The Role:
The Scrum Master/Project Manager role will act as a Scrum Master in a fast-paced, in-house software engineering team responsible for developing their application stack.
 
You will:
  • Develop/improve the Agile and Scrum processes
  • Coordinate and manage complex engineering initiatives with the Product Owner, designers, and marketing teams.
  • Manage distributed engineering teams, keeping in-house and and contract work in lock-step with one another.
  • Manage Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Design contractor teams building version two of the hardware product.

Our ideal candidate has:
  • Enjoys building, implementing, and iterating on processes designed to make complex systems more efficient.
  • Passionate about Agile/Scrum methodologies for development.
  • Pay very close attention to detail.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Well-versed in and experienced with project management techniques for both hardware and software development.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience working as a Scrum Master on an Agile/Scrum team.
  • Experience managing technical projects, particularly those related to hardware engineering.
  • Basic understanding of software technologies and architectures.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.

Our company’s future demands that we effectively and efficiently produce and distribute our products.  Therefore, it is imperative that we recruit organizational leaders capable of implementing proper operational strategies and processes.
 
You will:
  • Manage employees and vendors in order to procure the components (BOM) for GNARBOX on-time and on-quality
  • Directly interface with our Contract Manufacturer to manage production schedules and quality
  • Be the ultimate owner of hardware product quality and develop/measure test protocols
  • Coordinate forecasting activities by building consensus between business, sales, marketing, and operational arms
  • Manage the distribution of GNARBOX units to Sales Channels, including direct-to-customer
  • Develop processes to manage operational risk and reduce exposure over time
  • Be a thought leader and train our team in Operational Excellence

Our ideal candidate has:
  • Enjoy solving challenging problems in complex systems
  • Always pay close attention to detail
  • Apply discipline and process to get things done
  • Have the ability to stay organized and work well under time pressure
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Are a natural leader and comfortable with being responsible for crucial initiatives
 
Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to work over 60 hours a week if needed
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
  • To be located in the general Los Angeles Area
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, or distribution
  • Experience in sales/marketing forecasting
  • Familiarity with Agile business/product development models
  • An open mind to learning

Bonus points:
  • Have been part of a team bringing a product to market for the first time
  • Have held organizational leadership roles at a hardware-based technology company
  • Are familiar with techniques for database and data management
  • Built an end-to-end supply chain model in the past
