Job Title: Digital Marketing Data Analyst + Storyteller
A little bit about our team:
The Digital team at Atlantic Records is a full-service, agency-like marketing team, dedicated to building artist careers through the intersection of music and technology, unlike any other at a record label. We are responsible for all digital strategy and marketing for all artists on the roster, acting as artist partners across music, touring, merch, and all other aspects of the artist career.  Through creative marketing campaigns, we build online and mobile fan communities, with an eye towards evolving the way that fans listen to, participate in, and purchase music and related products.  We create, market and optimize content, develop and implement CRM/fan acquisition strategies, and work with new, engaging digital platforms and startups.

Why this could be your next big break:
The music industry continues to evolve, and Atlantic Records is always helping artists grow and reach their fans in new ways.  Using data to understand artist and fan connections, you will help build new models for breaking artists.  If you are HIGHLY analytical, a great communicator, and love digital marketing, this very unique role could be for you. This is not a digital marketing role; it is a new, unique opportunity for someone who loves data, spreadsheets, and infographics, but would prefer applying those skills to analyze music marketing activities rather than finance.
You will be working with the heads of digital marketing, technology/production, and ecommerce, using data to help drive ongoing marketing strategy and partnership relationships.
You should be as comfortable telling stories around the campfire as you are in digging through data tools and building graphs. You’ll work with each department, and with all levels of artists, helping us understand which marketing activities drive which actions.  You will work with many analysts within Atlantic and Warner Music Group, but uniquely you’ll apply your skills to help each part of our team understand how to apply these learnings to marketing campaigns.
You must think like a fan, a consumer, an artist, a technologist, and a marketer all at once.

Here you’ll get to:
  • Leverage data insights by applying the learnings in a way that can be understood and applied by all levels of the organization, from executive to new hires.
  • Collect and translate data into actionable insights which will help drive business strategy and decision-making process:
    • Dig through multiple data tools and data sets to draw conclusions based on marketing plans
    • Perform artist analyses on streaming, social, content and commerce properties
    • Determine cause and effect of marketing plans on streaming, sales and other channels
    • Analyze the impact of advertising, radio and other inputs on sales/streaming
    • Present data findings in easily understood formats to all levels of the company
  • Identify and fulfill ongoing and ad hoc reporting opportunities
  • Act as a resident expert on the latest tools and learnings from the Sales, Research & Analysis, and CRM/Direct-to-Consumer teams.

Rockstar candidates will be able to:
  • You are incredibly analytical, with a penchant for translating the insights into easily understandable formats
  • You have AMAZING organizational abilities
  • You can prioritize based on biggest wins for our artists and the team
  • You can manage multiple deadlines and urgent tasks
  • You are willing to learn a little bit of everything, and open to take on anything
  • You are excellent at listening, interpreting, and communicating with small and large groups
  • You are creative
  • You are a self-starter
  • You LOVE the internet, technology, social and music

It would be music to our ears if you also had:
  • Experience with enterprise-level and startup analytics tools, including data segmentation, visualization and dashboard tools.  Some may include Tableau, Next Big Sound, social listening tools, and beyond.
  • Familiarity with Nielsen SoundScan/Connect and Mediabase preferred.
  • Experience analyzing music industry data, including streaming, advertising and marketing data.
  • An analytical, creative design AND writing background
  • 2+ years experience
