NetEase is looking for creative, driven designers to help create and implement content for top tier mobile games. We are looking for talented game designers with proven experience, great communication skills, and unbridled creativity. Your role includes design and implementation of new quests, battle zones, character classes, narrative arcs, and other content needs.
At NetEase North America you will have the stability of a large company and the agility of a start-up studio. NetEase (NASDAQ: NTES), based in China, is a technology company with more than $10 billion market cap. You will be part of the new North American division that is both creating new games and adapting Chinese hit games for the western markets.
We’re looking for ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can get things done.
What You Will Be Doing
- Guiding creative development of titles in our development pipeline
- Creating new settings, characters, and other content as needed
- Overseeing localization of game text and art assets
- Organizing and managing assets built in-house and delivered from external sources
- An understanding of the differences between Eastern and Western markets and players
- Identifying points of change that can aid players fun when moving between markets
- Creating and maintaining design documentation
What You Need for this Position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - both creative and technical
- Solid understanding of art and design principles
- Broad knowledge of and passion for mobile games
Plusses
- Background in computer science, art, animation, and/or game design
- Hands-on experience with a mobile title
- Experience with game live ops
- Read, write and speak Chinese
